තෙසං අන්‌නඤ්‌ච පානඤ්‌ච, වත්‌ථසෙනාසනානි ච;
දදෙය්‍ය උජුභූතෙසු, විප්‌පසන්‌නෙන චෙතසා.
“විහාරයන් සාදවා සංඝ රත්නයට ‘විහාරදාන පූජා’ කිරීම අග්‍ර වූ පිංකමක් බව බුදුරජාණන් වහන්සේ විසින් වර්ණනා කරණ ලදි.
එබැවින්, තමාගේ අභිවෘද්ධිය දකින ඤාණවන්ත සත්පුරුෂයා, රමණීයවූ විහාරයන් කරවන්නේය, එහි බහුශ්‍රැත ගුණගරුක භික්ෂූන් වහන්සේලා වැඩ වසවන්නේය. සීලාදි සෘජු ගුණ ඇති ඒ භික්ෂූන් වහන්සේලා කෙරෙහි විශේෂයෙන් පැහැදුනු සිතින් ආහාර පාන වස්ත්‍ර ශයනාසනයන් ද පූජාකරන්නේය.”
වසර 2013 මාර්තු මස විසි පස්වැනි දින අංක 115A Cost Road, Wainuiomata, නමැති ලිපිනයෙහි පිහිටි මෙම තපෝ වනයෙහි ධර්මගවේශී භාවනා මධ්‍යස්ථානය ගරුතර සංඝයා වහන්සේලාගේ පිරිත් සජ්ජායනය මැද සිව්දෙසින් වඩින මහා සංඝරත්නය උදෙසා සාංඝික කොට පූජා කරන ලදී. මෙම අවස්ථාව සියසින් දැක ගැනීමත්, එයට සහභාගිවීමත් අප සියලු දෙනාගේම ජීවිතවල දක්නට ලැබුණු ඉතාමත් භාග්‍යවත් අවස්ථාවක් බව ඉඳුරාම සඳහන් කළ යුතුය. එය වචනයේ පරිසමාප්ත අර්ථයෙන්ම ආශ්චර්යජනක පුණ්‍ය මොහොතක් විය.
ප්‍රධාන මාර්ගයෙන් භාවනා මධ්‍යස්ථානයට පිවිස, තුරු ලතා වල සෙවණ යටින් ක්‍රමයෙන් කදු බැවුම් දිගේ ඉහලට එනවිට සිත් සතන් නිවීගොස් ශ්‍රද්ධාවෙන් පිරි යන ආකාරය විශ්මය ජනකය. මෙම රමණීය සෙනසුන එදා සිට පියවරෙන් පියවර ඉදිරියට යමින් බෞද්ධ භාවනා මධ්‍යස්ථානයකට අවශ්‍ය අංගෝපාංග එකිනෙක සපුරා ගනිමින්, එහි පැමිණෙන සෑම දෙනා වෙතම සදහම් සිසිල පතුරවමින් දියුණුව කරා යමින් පවතී.
සේනාසනය තුළ ඇවිදින මංතීරු සහ පඩිපෙළවල් සකස් කිරීම, භාවනානුයෝගී ස්වාමින් වහන්සේලාගේ ප්‍රයෝජනය සඳහා අමතර කුටි කිහිපයක් ඉදිකිරීම, ඉතාමත් අලංකාර බෝධි මළුවක් සහ එය වටා අටවිසි බුදුපිළිම සහිත පිළිමගෙයක් ඉදිකිරීම ආදී විශාල කටයුතු සංඛ්‍යාවක් මේ වනවිට සාදා නිමකොට ඇත.
මෙම කටයුතු සාර්ථක කරගැනීමට සේනාසනාධිපති ස්වාමීන්ද්‍රයන් වහන්සේ ප්‍රමුඛ අනිකුත් ස්වාමින් වහන්සේලාගේත්, මෙම ස්ථානය වටා එක් රොක් වී සිටින සියලුම සැදැහැවත් දායක දායිකාවන්ගේත් කාලය, ශ්‍රමය සහ ධනය නොමසුරුව යෙදවී ඇත.
ධර්ම ගවේශී භාවනා මධ්‍යස්ථානයට තවමත් විශාල අඩුවක් වශයෙන් පවතින්නේ බැතිමතුන්ගේ ශීල ව්‍යාපාර සහ භාවනා වැඩමුළු ආදිය සඳහා ගැලපෙන අයුරින් පාවිච්චි කළහැකි ශාලාවකි. මේ සඳහා අවශ්‍ය මූලික පියවරයන් දැනටමත් සකස් කර ගෙන යන අතර ඒ වෙනුවෙන් NZ$600,000 පමණ මුදලක් වැයවනු ඇතැයි ඇස්තමේන්තු කර ඇත. ඔබ සියලු දෙනා සැදැහැබර සිතින් මේ දක්වා අප වෙත ලබා දුන් සහයෝගය අතිශයින්ම අගය කරන අතර මෙම අත්‍යවශ්‍ය ගොඩනැගිල්ල ඉදි කර ගැනීම සඳහා ද දායක වනලෙස ඉතාමත් කරුණාවෙන් සහ ඕනෑකමින් ඔබ සැමගෙන් ඉල්ලා සිටිමු.

The supreme Buddha praised that ‘the offering of dwelling places’ (Vihara) to the Sangha is a great merit.
Therefore, the wise and virtuous person, who sees his own every kind of progress, builds beautiful temples, and invites learned and virtuous monks to dwell there.
With an especially impressed faithful mind in monks, he offers food, drink, clothes (Civara) and beddings to those monks who bear upright mind and virtues.
The Dhamma Gavesi Meditation Centre was offered to the Maha Sangha on the 25th of March 2013, at 115 A Cost Road, Wainuiomata, amongst ‘Pirith Chanting’. We were fortunate to see and participate in this rare and exceptional meritorious opportunity. Once you enter the monastery property from the main road, walking up through the picturesque flora and fauna in the mountainous valley, it is really a wonder that it will bring you so much peace of mind.
Dhamma Gavesi Monastery has been developed step by step to its present state, with the necessary infrastructure facilities and enabling the resident monks to serve the devotees of the community with the Dhamma. The walkways with the steps within the premises were somewhat completed. Also, a few extra huts (Bhavana Kutis) for the meditating monks were built. A beautiful fence-wall around the Bo-Tree was erected. And a shrine room with twenty-eight Buddha statues has almost been completed.
These achievements were made with the help and guidance of the chief incumbent Bhante Jinalankara and other monks. The financial support and the sacrifice of the devotees were immense. Still, a spacious accommodation and dining area suitable for the monks and devotees who come for meditation retreats and other religious activities is a long-felt need.
